One NationIllustration, Print
It is the duty of any country and nation to protect it’s people and it’s interests. During WWII some of the most iconic illustration used in marketing emerged and spurred the public to do their patriotic duty. I took it upon myself to revitalize the graphics originally used and create a more symbiotic relationship between imagery and type. This served as one of my early attempts to blur type and illustration into a more harmonious whole.
The quotes for three of the pieces were pulled from Franklin D. Roosevelt’s State of the Union Address in 1942 to help maintain the patriotic focus and understand the mentality of the time with greater clarity during the design process.
